Santa Barbara, CA

Chapala Street in Santa Barbara is an emerging, and sometimes controversial, hub for mixed-use housing with commercialuses and parking on the first level, a restaurant and housing on the second, and spacious housing on the third, this El Pueblo Viejo district building flowed through the demanding design review board with minimal comments and much praise. Its whimsical design and details permeate through every level, culminating in a beautiful public courtyard extending the many paseos throughout Santa Barbara.

Project Size: 20,000 sq. ft.

 Completion Date: TBD

Jaime Palencia was the Senior Designer for this project while at Kupiec Architects.
